A learner profile is not an account

A learner profile holds one person’s decks, settings and learning progress. You can use Minki with a local learner profile without signing in.

An account connects your collection to sync. It can hold several learner profiles, so people using the same account do not need to share their learning progress.

Connect your account

  1. Open the menu with your learner’s name. Under Account & sync, choose Connect sync account.
  2. Create an account or sign in to your existing account using the options shown.
  3. Let sync finish. On your other device, sign in to the same account and select the same learner profile.

If changes have not appeared

Connect both devices to the internet and check Account & sync. Make sure both use the same account and learner profile. If Minki asks you to sign in again, do so to resume sync.

Changes made offline need to sync before they can appear on another device.

Before clearing data or signing out

Check that sync has finished before removing local data. Signing out removes the collection from this device; data that has already synced stays in your account.

Without an account, clearing browser or app data can remove your only copy of the decks and learning progress. Exporting a deck saves its content, but does not save learning progress.
