Export the deck
In Anki, export the deck as an .apkg file. To bring a whole collection, export a .colpkg file. Download a shared deck the same way. Minki does not connect to an Anki account.
You can preview the file on this site first. The preview runs in your browser and is not saved.
Import it in Minki
- Open Minki and choose My decks.
- Choose Add deck (+), then Import deck.
- Select the .apkg or .colpkg file and read the preview.
- Choose Import cards. Check a few cards before you rely on the deck for study.
What comes across
- Basic question and answer cards. A reversed Anki card becomes its own Minki card, with the sides swapped.
- Images, and audio files that are MP3, WAV or Ogg.
- Subdecks, which become sections. Tags are kept.
- A collection with several decks becomes one Minki deck. The original decks become sections.
What is left out
The preview counts skipped notes and names the reason. Importing still adds the cards that Minki can use.
- Cloze deletions and image occlusion notes.
- Fields Minki does not recognise.
- Anki review history, schedules and other card templates. Imported cards start as new cards.
- SVG, video and missing files.
